CCI-LEX - LEX Classes for immigrants

THE LEARNING EXCHANGE (LEX): 

Part-time English as an Additional/Second language classes for adult permanent residents (new Canadian citizens, landed immigrants and refugees) taught by volunteer teachers.  Small fees apply.

Instruction for our General ESL classes includes reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar.  LEX classes are taught by volunteer teachers who receive ongoing support and training in instructing ESL. The Learning Exchange offers part-time classes and continuous enrollment, which allows students to begin their course without long periods of waiting, provided there is class space available.

To start school, please come to take a free placement test.  After the test we can tell you your level and if there is a space available or if you need to wait - some classes have waiting lists.  

Please note: February 6 to February 24, 2017 is term-end with review, testing, and break.  No new students will start classes at this time, new students will join from February 27, 2017.

Permanent residents and citizens are eligible for discounted prices for classes in our CCI Program. The CCI Program offers General ESL and Specialized ESL classes with professional instructors, part-time or full-time study.

 

All interested students must take the  free placement test. Please bring documents that show your immigration status, such as a Permanent Resident card, Citizenship card or Canadian passport, or refugee papers.  

TESTING HOURS: 

Monday to Thursday:        9:30am - 6:30pm

Friday:                               9:30am - 5:00pm

Saturday:                          8:30am - 2:30pm (only when Saturday classes are in session!)

No appointment necessary!

For our IELTS Intensive Preparation class you must make an appoinment for the special pre-assessment test.
