Volunteer to Teach English as a Second Language
We are continually recruiting volunteers! There is an application and interview process involved. If an applicant is successful, the next steps are observations of experienced instructors, reference checks and a police information check.
We supply parking or transit tickets, pre-planned lessons, an extensive resource library, and all LEX volunteers receive an initial orientation and have access to various ESL training workshops. You only need to supply the enthusiasm in sharing your knowledge of English and the time.
If you have any questions or want to start the process, download the application form and email it to the LEX Program Coordinator at lexprogram@cci-lex.ca
Volunteer as a Board Member
Volunteer Board Members gain work experience, learn news skills or use existing skills to make a difference in the lives of newcomers to Alberta and Canada and English as a Second Language learners. Volunteer Board Members attend Board of Director meetings, usually on a monthly basis and any additionally scheduled committe meetings, and assist the organization with policy creation, strategic planning & direction.
Volunteers require criminal record checks, fluency in English (verbal & written skills), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work well in a small group and previous experience working with Non-Profit Boards is valuable.
Please, direct any questions to the Board Chair at:
